Responsibilities : Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM
B Dedication to providing world class customer service.
B Act as Tier 2 escalation support to solve product and services problems in the data centers and on customerBs hosts.
B Monitor daily health of the TSM server environment.
React and respond to day to day problems and changes related to storage administration, including but not limited to: Disk space, Data Backup and Recovery, Disaster Recovery, Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) backup failures.
B Develop and maintain departmental processes and documentation.
B Perform tape backup installations, provisioning, troubleshooting and decommissioning.
B Utilize Remedy for Problem Management and Change and Task Management.
B Provide sales support as directed.
B Provide immediate escalation of critical client problems that may become serious service delivery issues or may be reported to executive management.
B Work with the Engineering group to help develop and test new technology and solutions.
B Participate in multiple projects and shifting workloads.
B Participate on projects providing technical expertise for the success of the project.
B Utilize the change review process and tools as required by each project task.
B Attend Design Review meetings to analyze prospective client system design.
B Provide post-implementation support.
B Provide education to others in the department and company.
B Train/mentor junior staff members as appropriate.
Qualifications :
B College Degree preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent work-related experience with a minimum educational requirement of a H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent.
B BS in Computer Science, equivalent Technical School training or equivalent work experience that includes appropriate training courses.
B 3-5 years experience providing storage administration services to clients.
AIX, Microsoft or TSM Certification.
B Experience with installation, maintenance, and general support of TSM servers and clients and related software products.
B Demonstrated in depth knowledge of job specific storage technology (TSM or HSM etc).
B Experience with tape library storage solutions.
B Must possess strong interpersonal skills in order to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
B Extensive problem-solving skills for debugging TSM, operating systems, and network issues.
B Experience with business continuity technologies & practices, including high-availability, clustering, and data vaulting solutions.
B Experience providing services with a data center outsourcer, MSP or web hosting business.
B Shell and/or PERL scripting knowledge desirable.
B Understanding of HP/UNIX, Solaris, Windows, Linux, and TCP/IP.
B Understanding of data center infrastructure technologies.
B Understanding of midrange and storage technologies.
B Understanding of network technologies.
B Understanding of SQL server administration.
B Understanding of MS Exchange server administration
B Understanding of Oracle database administration
B Understanding of Tivoli tools, debugging packages, and monitors.
B Self-motivated and flexible to accommodate possible changes in business strategies.
B Excellent written and verbal skills.
B Excellent organizational and time management skills.
B Team player, can lead or follow as necessary.
B Ability to participate in off-hours and weekend support.
