Salary Range : $78K - $97K
Respnosibilites:
B Monitor daily health of Storage Arrays and SAN Switches.
B Install, maintain, and support Storage Arrays and SAN Switches.
B React and respond to day-to-day problems and changes as they relate to storage.
B Administration, including but not limited to: Array Group Configuration, LUN Creation and Host Connectivity, Tape Library and Volume Management, Customer Migrations, and SAN Integration.
B Develop and maintain departmental processes and documentation.
B Manage ticket queue for Problem Management, Change Management Tasks, and Customer Requests.
B Continually research new industry trends in storage.
B Suggest improvements based on technology, best practices, or changing requirements.
B Provide immediate escalation of critical client problems that may become serious service delivery issues or may be reported to executive management.
B Train/mentor junior staff members as appropriate.
B Maintain current knowledge of new operating systems, hardware, software and tools.
B Provide regular management updates on advantages and potential opportunities for new technologies and automation.
Qualifications :
B College Degree preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent work-related experience with a minimum educational requirement of a H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent.
B BA or BS in relevant field (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering) or equivalent Technical School training or equivalent work experience that includes appropriate training courses.
B 6 to 10 years experience providing storage administration services to customers.
B Experience with installation, maintenance, and general support of EMC Clariion/Symmetrix Arrays and Brocade/McData Switches.
B Knowledge of IBM, SUN, Hitachi, 3-Par, Network Appliance, or Cisco a plus.
B Demonstrated in depth knowledge of job specific storage technology (SAN Topologies, SAN Switching, Disk Array Management, LUN Presentation, etc).
B Knowledge of replication technologies (SRDF, Mirror View, Global Mirror, or True Copy) a plus.
B Extensive problem-solving skills for debugging storage arrays, SAN switches, operating systems, and network issues.
B In-depth technical knowledge and experience for reviewing and recommending technical solutions for internal and client infrastructure.
B Experience providing services with a data center outsourcer, managed service provider, or web hosting business.
B Ability to mentor junior storage engineers.
B Experience dealing with IT audits, including ISO and SAS-70.
B Understanding of Windows and UNIX/Linux environments.
B Understanding of scripting languages (Perl, Bash, VBscript, etc) a plus.
B Understanding of SNMP/MIB configuration for monitoring.
B Understanding of data center infrastructure technologies.
B Understanding of network technologies.
B Excellent written and verbal skills.
B Excellent organizational and time management skills.
B Ability to participate in off-hours and weekend support.
B Ability to effectively deal with change.
B Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting workloads.
B Team player, can lead or follow as needed.
B Scheduled work week is Monday B Friday, daytime hours.
Preferred Requirements:
B Experience with financial industry IS/IT requirements for security & business continuity.
B Previous experience with SAN Replication technologies (SRDF, Mirror View, Global Mirror, and True Copy)
B Previous experience with IBM, SUN, Hitachi, 3-Par, Network Appliance, or Cisco a plus.
B Experience providing services with a data center outsourcer, managed service provider, or web hosting business.
B Experience developing, documenting and socializing systems or business management processes.
B Experience with ISO 2001, TQM or other Industry Standard process management solutions.
