Our client, one of the worldCBCBs leading pharmaceutical companies, seeks a stellar Patent Litigation Attorney. Responsibilities include; Providing legal advice and representation to US businesses and global R&D organizations involved in patent litigation and related legal issues. The position requires broad knowledge of patent litigation and procedures and the ability to apply that knowledge to achieve the client's goals. The incumbent is responsible for assisting senior litigation counsel on exceptional matters and managing an individual caseload of patent lawsuits and claims. The attorney will personally manage and lead team comprised of internal and external resources to achieve cost effective and
successful outcomes. Key responsibilities include the development of case strategies and budgets as well as active involvement in each patent litigation matter, which typically will include the factual investigation, pretrial pleadings, discovery and motions practice
and dispute resolution (whether by settlement, trial, or ADR). The position will also provide opportunities to become involved in preventative law initiatives and the
development and delivery of training on various legal subjects.
JD plus 10 years employment in patent litigation as a private practice litigation attorney or in-house litigation counsel. Position requires litigation-team management experience, excellent oral and written communications skills, and human relations skills. Patent litigation experience relating to pharmaceutical or bio-technology arts and Hatch-Waxman cases is preferred. A technical background in biology or biochemistry and registration in the US Patent and Trademark office are also preferred. State Bar membership and excellent academic credentials also required.
