Our client, a major Fortune 500 financial services company, seeks an outstanding and experienced Patent Prosecution Paralegal. Responsibilities will include; Conducting patent due diligence, including review and research patent-related documents and perform other related departmental duties, as well as billing review. Ideal candidate is a paralegal with practiced knowledge of the patent prosecution and docketing process who is also interested in a position which will involve considerable client interaction. Daily projects associated with the USPTO, including maintenance of the patent portfolio guidelines and deadlines, and creation and revision of pertinent status reports will be performed, while keeping in close communication with inside patent counsel and outside counsel.
Must be currently employed as a Patent Prosecution Paralegal in a major law firm or corporation with a minimum of 3 years experience. Paralegal certification, including patent course work is preferred. Desired / preferred skills: Strong working knowledge of domestic patent terminology and practices; Foreign patent knowledge is a plus; Extensive research skills. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; Comprehensive working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel) and Lotus Notes.
