Job Description:
Responsibilities : SHIFT (Sun-Tues alt Wed: 7am-7pm)
B Provide layer 1-4 network support. This includes all levels of problem determination and resolution using various diagnostic techniques, equipment, and service provider resources to successful completion.
B Assemble and update documentation in the form of problem and change management tickets.
B Provide technical assistance to all internal/external customers during circuit outages.
B Coordinate with network service providers to resolve outages and initial activation.
B Have a base familiarity with client base and the network resources being utilized by all internal/external customers. Use this information to assist in resolving network issues or trouble shooting network outages or impairments.
B Assist in weekly and monthly network maintenance activity when required
Position Responsibilities
Provide world-class customer support and technical expertise for customer networks.
B Provide layer 1-4 network support. This includes all levels of problem determination and resolution using various diagnostic techniques, equipment, and service provider resources to successful completion.
B Coordinate with network service providers to resolve outages and initial activation.
B Technical assistance to all internal/external customers during circuit outages.
B Respond to inbound customer requests (phone, email, tickets)
Assume the role of problem owner & notification for service requests.
B Assemble and update documentation in the form of problem and change management tickets.
B Have a base familiarity with client base and the network resources being utilized by all internal/external customers. Use this information to assist in resolving network issues or trouble shooting network outages or impairments.
B Respond to customer and internal initiated phone calls and email.
B Attend training courses, perform self-study, obtain network certifications.
B Learn automated resource functions and terminology.
B Study the Livelink Library Help Desk procedures.
B Strong network troubleshooting skills are required.
Qualifications : Must Requirements (including any physical requirements):
B College Degree preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent work-related experience with a minimum educational requirement of a H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent.
Must Requirements (including any physical requirements):
B Two to Five years experience in a Network control/management center or as a Network Engineer. B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is highly desirable.
B Strong network troubleshooting skills are required.
B Strong customer service skills are required.
B Experience with a variety of switch & router hardware, carrier services, network services, network management, network termination equipment and associated diagnostic equipment.
B Technical knowledge & experience with various network protocols are required.
B Must have the ability to lead and direct vendors to assist them in their efforts.
B Knowledge & experience with LAN and WAN protocols and connectivity.
B Ability to interact and influence change within the team that youBre working in.
B Strong interpersonal skills are a requirement.
B Excellent communications skills (written and oral) are required.
B Strong time management and organizational skill are required.
B Must have the ability to effectively work in a team environment, as well as independently.
B Shift work is required. Proven leadership skills in a fast paced work environment is required.
B Ability to manage multiple responsibilities is required.
B CCNA or JNCIA within first six months of employment required.
