Our client is seeking to hire a Business Development Associate to be based in Houston, Texas. This is a great opportunity for a motivated business development professional with proven telephone networking experience.
Objectives:
The principle objective of this position is to manage the initial contact channel for key target organizations to ensure an ongoing level of business development activity leading to sales conversion in the North American region, through the development of key client relationships and articulation of the company's offering, approach and brand values.
Responsibilities:
Making cold and warm telephone calls to prospective clients for the purpose of booking introductory and follow up sales meetings
Navigating organizations to obtain access to identified individuals or positions that fit a specific target client profile
Creating and managing a list of target clients through ongoing research and networking
Conducting background research to identify potential client buyers and needs
Driving appropriate follow up actions by constant review of sales pipeline and background opportunities
Maintaining CRM database, including contacts, meetings summaries and opportunities
Managing calendars of senior staff to ensure effective and efficient use of time and travel and booking travel arrangements as required
Producing weekly and monthly sales planning and performance reports
Collaborating with global sales team to review feedback and make ongoing adjustments to the existing sales script and contact correspondence
Acting as primary liaison with industry groups and identifying appropriate opportunities for event attendance and presentations
Preparing sales presentations and proposals
Building capability over time to participate in face-to-face sales meetings with selected companies and individuals and represent company at industry meetings
Performing other related sales and marketing activities as required
Skills:
Self-starting professional requiring minimal supervision
Demonstrated cold calling capability
Ability to articulate highly conceptual, complex sale in practical terms
Strong analytical skills for the production of industry and company profiles
An engaging telephone manner and ability to build rapport with prospective clients and their assistants
A tenacious attitude in ensuring objectives are met
An extremely organized working style that manages multiple concurrent activities
Ability to commit to and achieve specific performance targets
Experience:
Two to five years experience in client contact/business development environment
Experience in professional services / consulting organizations
Cold calling experience
Location: Houston, TX; Relocation assistance
Travel: Up to approximately 25% travel
Compensation: $50,000 to $75,000 base plus bonus/incentives
