Global investment bank is seeking to add an individual to its SOX team. Individual will assist with all SOX planning, scoping and documentation, and the maintenance/reengineering of the balance sheet substantiation process. Specifics include:
-Balance Sheet Substantiation: assist in managing the reengineering of the BBS process and work closely with the process owners and Legal Entity Controllers (LEC). This will require a person to perform a detailed analytical review of accounts and balances, identify issues and make recommendations to LEC and Management.
-Preparation and maintenance of required SOX documentation. This will require the ability to interact with various levels of management, analyze information and interview process owners effectively to extract information to produce and/or update process documentation and obtain sign-offs in a timely manner.
-Liaise with SOX testers (Internal Audit and External Audit).When the internal auditor raises a deficiency, the person will need to discuss it with the external auditors and the process owners, interpret and analyze the deficiency and recommend and develop solutions to resolve the deficiency.
-Work closely with the recipients of the monthly closing schedule to streamline and make more useful. This will involve analyzing the schedule, questioning information, investigating discrepancies, asking the appropriate questions to the Finance members and finally making recommendations for improvements. Distribute and maintain each month.
-Streamline and coordinate the tracking of internal audit findings for Finance and external Auditors, and monitor responses. Enhance the process to make more useful. This includes SOX and non-SOX findings.
-Liaise with External auditors and coordinate their PBC list/requests throughout the year. Coordinate the entire process, work with senior managers and the respective people in finance to create efficiencies in the process.
Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2/3 years relevant experience from another financial institution or public accounting firm and have strong interpersonal, writing and technical skills.
