A top international US law firms is looking for a projects associate in the firm's Singapore office. This firm has vast experience in the Singapore and regional market, and is active in advising project sponsors, lenders, product offtakers and contractors in power and energy projects in China, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. A qualified candidate is someone who is capable of drafting and negotiating EPC contracts, O&M contracts, raw material supply contracts, offtake agreements, owner's engineer agreements and license agreements. Moreover, the firm is looking for someone who preferably understands tariff equations and bonus/penalty formulae. A suitable candidate should also be capable of producing bespoke documents such as side letters, MOUs, and ad hoc agreements and amending documents of various sorts, and handling unexpected problems in the financing or project implementation stage that may require persuasive documents such as complex waiver requests, entreaties to government officials, and threatening and/or groveling letters to contractors, partners, lenders, insurers, etc. (Bar Admission Requirement: US, UK, Canada or Australia.)
