Great Experience, Would Recommend

4.8 of 5 stars

Kansas City, MO | 2012 | VERIFIED INTERN

Got great experience that has allowed me to earn other scholarships in my degree area.

Downers

I frequently ran out of things to do and would have enjoyed the internship if I had been busy during the day (I got off work early almost every day)

Advice to Potential Interns

Definitely a good place to start, you gain a lot of valuable experience and TRU treats their employees well.

Great Program to Develop Yourself as a Leader

4.5 of 5 stars

Riverside, CA | 2012 | VERIFIED INTERN

Uppers

Working with the people at the distribution center. The managers and team members were all very friendly and fun to work with.

Downers

Starting the morning shift at 6:00am was the least favorable part of the internship. However, that is due to the department I was assigned to.

Advice to Potential Interns

Toys R Us is a great place to work. They have a great environment for you to learn and grow as an individual and leader. The people who you will work with and learn from are very intelligent and experienced individuals who are more than willing to help you.

Advice to Management

More training would be beneficial throughout this program.

Difficult yet rewarding

Other (US) | 2012 | VERIFIED INTERN

I had a great mentor who helped me and taught me so much about the company and distribution center.

Downers

It would have been nicer to have more than one intern at the distribution center. It would have been nice to have a colleague to work with who was on the same footing and same age as you.

Advice to Potential Interns

The internship is challenging but also very rewarding. You are doing something that will definitely improve the company's practices.

Advice to Management

Higher pay would have been nice; many of my friends in other companies received higher pay. Or a housing stipend do help alleviate the costs of moving.

Mentoring an intern takes a lot of time, don't choose intern supervisors who are busy on other projects that the intern won't be a part of
