The internship included an wide variety of intern events that allowed students so experience more than their department/ job assignment

Downers

At some points it felt a little unorganized (i.e. chairmans challenge)

Dynamic experience with internship program in HR with focus on networking and building key corporate skills
Hartford, CT | 2014 | VERIFIED INTERN

Uppers

Networking with both interns and high level executives, learning the basics of the corporate world, having my work valued by the rest of the team and beyond.

Downers

Sometimes long hours, but worth it

Advice to Potential Interns

Don't judge a potential internship based on its description on the website or pamphlet. Most of the time the role is much more in-depth than what is posted, and you learn and develop as the summer goes on and your skills emerge. This company is so diverse that you will definitely find a department and team that meshes best with your desires and skills.

Sample Interview Questions

Tell me about yourself

What sort of leadership roles have you been involved in, both on and off campus?

Advice to Management

Include more early-in-career training opportunities (or market for them more broadly)

Experience Aetna
Hartford, CT | 2014 | VERIFIED INTERN

Uppers

The best part of the intership was learning the business inside and out. During the 12 weeks at this internship you learn about the healthcare industry, as wel as the way the business operates. I learned more in this internship than ever in the classroom.

Downers

I wish the internship could last a few weeks longer or the dates be changed.

Advice to Potential Interns

While certain individuals might be discouraged by the idea of working healthcare, there is a place for any personality in this organization.
