My fellow employees were very welcoming. I had quality training that prepared me to be thrown into the fire of the workday experience.

Learning new techniques and technologies.

Downers

The internship was focused on particular areas of app development, making it difficult to gain an understanding of the bigger picture--how various technologies and platforms relate to each other, for instance.

Advice to Potential Interns

The work is rewarding and fun. Make sure you have good Googling skills so you don't bother your manager and co-workers with questions you can answer for yourself. Learn as much as possible in order to become and independent developer.

Be sure to clarify any task descriptions with your manager/co-workers before beginning work--communicating on the front end of a task will save you the pain of having to redo your work.

2. write pseudo-code to reverse the order of elements in an array

Got to work with interesting technologies that I wouldn't have ever been able to use on my own.

Downers

The people, the work, the environment.

Downers

They are working through their onboarding process. There's a few kinks.

Advice to Potential Interns

They expect you to work but don't let that scare you. All of the people I have met here are very nice and the managers will make sure you have everything you need for work.

Teamwork x Resourcefulness = Solutions

4.4 of 5 stars

Falls Church, VA | 2015 | VERIFIED INTERN

Uppers

The best aspects of the internship were how encouraging my colleagues were, the frequency with which I was able to give presentations to upper-management, and the opportunity to solve problems that were unfamiliar, and because of that, kind of challenging.

Downers

What I liked least about my internship was that I did not get to work with colleagues in PCO as much as I had hoped.

Advice to Potential Interns

CSC is a big company with friendly people who want to see you succeed. If you can demonstrate that you are a team player who is eager to learn new skills and help deliver results, there will be no shortage of opportunities.

CSC Technical Intern - Great work experience, learn about the company, network

4.3 of 5 stars

Falls Church, VA | 2015 | VERIFIED INTERN

Uppers

Learning more about an excel program that I knew little about, working with others and meeting coworkers in the office, creating a successful program to make others' jobs easier.

Downers

Very little structure and organization, not as much guidance as I was expecting.

Advice to Potential Interns

Don't be afraid to reach out to coworkers and ask for help or advice.

Advice to Management

More guidance as an intern would have been helpful. At times, I felt lost with no direction or help from anywhere. Help was not easy to find with manager being so busy. Everyone knew different information, so it was hard to find the correct answer to a question quickly. I felt as though I needed someone to look over my work and evaluate more in depth as the summer went on.
