Want to Review a Different Internship?

Looks Great on a ResumeOpportunities for substantive workGood hours, no expectation to stay late
Experience is very dependent upon who you work withCan be difficult to get assignments unless you are really willing to seek them out
Highly recommend due to the opportunities available after interning at the S.E.C.Try to build a relationship early with your internship supervisor, they will have major control over the assignments that you receive.

Looks great on resume (regulatory experience looks good whether you want to go into government or private practice)
Typical government bureaucracy; a lot of internship work (aka data entry); not a lot of autonomy, etc. Oh, and it's unpaid!!!
Not the best internship experience ever, but definitely worth it for the resume building and connections.

Nice supervisor, attend private commissoners' meetings, decent work for an intern, great hours
Chances of landing a post-graduation job at the firm through this internship is slim to none.
Take courses to show interest, reach out to past interns through Linkedin or your law school data base.
