Raleigh, NC | 2013 | VERIFIED INTERN

I loved being able to make an actual impact by doing work like other full time analysts.

Downers

The only thing I disliked was the initial paperwork all interns had to fill out on the first day of the internship.

Advice to Potential Interns

Be open minded and learn from your mistakes.

An insightful and inspirational learning experience, meeting some very eccentric and exciting characters
London | 2013 | VERIFIED INTERN

Gaining invaluable development experience in a Front Office IT team, and meeting and talking to people of all roles within the bank.

Downers

Overall, I'm very much enjoying the entire experience.

Advice to Potential Interns

There is always an opportunity to move internally to different roles or teams within the bank.

Being treated as a graduate, while still an under-grad
London | 2013 | VERIFIED INTERN

Uppers

Being able to have a technical or a non-technical role. Having real responsibility from Day 1.

Downers

There wasn't much contact after receiving the offer until the placement began.

Advice to Potential Interns

Apply to the smaller programs, and then use them as 'stepping stones' to get onto the longer programs

Advice to Management

Intern subsidised canteen/gym. Keep more contact after the offers have been distributed (there was nothing inbetween the offer and the job starting)

Great people, exciting projects, supportive team
New York, NY | 2013 | VERIFIED INTERN

Uppers

The people at Credit Suisse are truly unique. I enjoyed working with them and was impressed by the time people took, even my MDs and Directors, so sit and talk to me - explain aspects deals we were working on and to share their experience working in the industry.

Downers

Long hours in banking cannot be avoided. Cancelling plans with friends is never fun, but I found people were incredibly understanding (when we had the flexibility - aka, no client deliverable due ASAP) to even encourage me to spend time outside of the office and stick to plans I'd made.

Advice to Potential Interns

When you are evaluating different banks and opportunities, spend time to get to know the people and the culture. That will be the difference between being a happy analyst and a miserable one. No matter where you go, you'll have plenty of modeling expeirence and will learn the skills you need to be a good analyst - so pick based on the people!

Advice to Management

The new Credit Suisse accelerated promotion program seems like a great addition. Continuing to focus on developing and retaining talent would be a good thing for CS to continue doing.

Learning experience, great people, feel valued
London | 2013 | VERIFIED INTERN

Uppers

How much responsibility you're given from the outset, lots of interaction with very senior people, collaborative culture

Downers

How short each rotation is, definitely trade off between number of areas of business exposure and depth

Advice to Potential Interns

Great people, great culture, great programme

Advice to Management

More excel training
