A full fledged investment banking experience at a firm that will support you all the way.

Uppers

Quality of the people and culture within the firm.

Downers

More opportunities could have been given for students coming from a finance and business background to further challenge themselves during the summer.

Advice to Potential Interns

Have a completely open mind and positive attitude coming into the experience and be willing to take on the work that comes your way.

Advice to Management

Overall the work environment and lifestyle is great and the new analyst program, particularly the fast track program and mentorship resources were very well received. If anything more structured opportunities for students from finance and business backgrounds to be given more challenging and technical assignments and projects would be much appreciated.

Make sure you know this is what you want to do, do your homework - find out about the company, the indsutry, the role you are applying for. If you do that, you will have an absolutely amazing time here.

Strong deal exposure, excellent mentorship and growth, and a healthy, team-based culture

Uppers

Strong and immediate exposure to live transactions with lean deal-teams which meant plenty of senior exposure, even as an intern. Excellent compenation for the summer. A healthy group culture which promoted teamwork and as much of a work-life balance as is possible in investment banking

Downers

The hours (as expected) could be long and a lot was asked for interns due to the leanness of the deal teams which required everyone (even interns) to hit the ground running very quickly

Advice to Potential Interns

Credit Suisse is definitely a "team player" environment and a lot of the "politicking" I know happens elsewhere is not tolerated.

Advice to Management

People get worked hard and given as much responsibility as they can handle (or even more than that on occasion), members of the team are asked to fill shoes much larger than their actual position stipulates with the associated title or compensation.
