About Teen Voices

Founded in 1988, Teen Voices is a journalism mentoring and leadership development program focused on teenage girls in Boston. The organization publishes a magazine that reaches 45,000 readers in print and 250,000 page views online. Covering such topics as author interviews, careers, college prep, diversity, environment, food, GLBT, health, relationships, and sports, the publication also features real teen girls who are making a difference in the world. Teen Voices seeks "to encourage teen girls around the world to speak out on issues, create positive and powerful media, and lead change in their communities."

Teen Voices hires interns in numerous areas, including administration, art, development, editorial, marketing, and programs. The internship program is focused on helping participants develop their skills and interests. Examples of intern tasks include assisting with events, editorial mentoring, ensuring editorial quality, maintaining office organization, promoting the magazine, and writing. The organization seeks interns who will be role models for the Teen Editorial Board and who support the organization's mission.
