CBS News Internship

CBS News is the news and information arm of CBS Corporation, dedicated to providing the best in journalism under standards it pioneered at the dawn of radio and television and continues to set in today's digital age. Headquartered in New York, CBS News includes bureaus across the globe and influential, critically acclaimed programs that provide newsmaking features and interviews, investigative reports, analysis and breaking news 24 hours a day, seven days a week, utilizing a multi-platform model for news distribution across television, radio, the internet and hand-held devices. The CBS News internship program is designed for students who are interested in pursuing a career in journalism, broadcasting or communication. Placement possibilities include The Evening News, 60 Minutes, 48 Hours, CBS This Morning, Sunday Morning, Face the Nation, News Productions, Newspath, Newspath Sports, Radio News, Press Office, Weekend News, News Marketing, Investigative Unit, Channel One News and Broadcast Marketing. Locations include New York and Washington DC. Assignments vary day-to-day. Interns can expect to log tapes, coordinate script, research stories, conduct preliminary interviews, assist during shoots, select footage, perform light clerical duties and assist staff members. Internship is unpaid; student must get credit. Summer program is 10 weeks with $1,000 stipend.
