About Hulu, LLC Internship Programs

Launched in 2008, Hulu is a service for online TV. The company operates an ad-supported website Hulu.com that allows viewers to watch online video content -- TV shows, clips, and movies -- for free. Its premium service Hulu Plus allows streaming of full current and past season content on everything from TV sets and PCs to mobile phones and tablets for a monthly subscription fee. Consumers can pay extra for ad-free content. Hulu's programming is provided by more than 400 content companies, including network TV providers ABC, FOX, and NBC, as well as film studios MGM, Paramount, and Sony. For those who choose not to subscribe to a cable television provider, Hulu has also worked out agreements to offer premium cable offerings, like Showtime, for an additional fee. In addition to promoting content from network providers, those that have advertised on Hulu throughout the years include McDonald's, Microsoft, Target, and Toyota.

Hulu is always looking to add to its staff and are looking for smart people with intense curiosity, a determination to be the best, and a passion about redefining TV through innovation, unconventional thinking and embracing fun. It's a mission that takes some serious smarts, intense curiosity and determination to be the best.

When you become employed by Hulu, you join the Hulugans and enjoy the perks of Hulugan Life, which they break out into six categories: Collaboration, Empowerment, Individuality, Wellness, Fun and Transparency.

Collaboration: Hulu works across teams to complete projects together and achieve this through an open work environment. THis means not a single Hulugan has an office, not even the CEO. Hulu also hosts regular lunchtime sessions for team members to share their knowledge and learn from each other. The company also provides work style assessments to help teams collaborate more effectively.

Empowerment: Hulu has created continuous training resources to help staff gain new knowledge and forge their own career path. It also provides advanced screenings of its hottest shows, Q&As with casts and creators, free Hulu subscriptions with Premium Add-Ons and discounted prices for friends and family.

Individuality: Every Hulugan has a professional photo shoot to display who they are. These photos collectively line the walls of Hulu's offices in all locations. They also have clubs such as the Food Ners and the Run Club.

Wellness: In addition to medical, dental, and vision. Hulu goes one step further to improve everyone's overall health. Hulu offers 401(k) matching, a long-term incentive plan, flexible work hours and vacation time, fully stocked kitchens, free on-site cooking and fitness classes, sit/stand desks, and even a monthly stipend to use on whatever helps staff "Be Well." They even provide green commuting bonuses to support the health of the environment.

Fun:  Staff could spend your time debugging code from a beanbag and then reward themsleves by competing in an epic ping pong tournament in one of Hulu's game rooms. Hulu also boasts that they know how to throw a party and enjoy spending time with each other; from its Huluween festivities to its summer and holiday parties.

Transparency: Hulu's leaders host All Hands meetings with an interactive Q&A to discuss business updates and its direction as a company. On top of that, they make accessibility a priority by providing unfiltered face time at regular Coffee Talks around the globe. They also encourage dialogue online through social intranet and regular survey opportunities.

Hulu's internships provide university students an opportunity to work on significant business-impacting projects. They will have direct interaction with all levels of the company, including members of the leadership team. Instead of making coffee or testing somebody else's code, interns design and code their own projects and present their work to the company's technology and business leaders.
