Finance Summer Internship Profile: The L'Oréal USA Finance Summer Internship Program positions are based in our Berkeley Heights, NJ or New York, NY locations. The internship is between 10 - 12 weeks in length and will consist of three main elements:
•Assisting your assigned brand/division with the day-to-day activities of the finance function while gaining real hands-on business experience
•Working on an individual project that will be presented to senior management at the conclusion of the internship
•Participation in various corporate events and seminars

What does an Internship in Finance look like at L'Oreal USA?
A summer at L'Oreal is multi-faceted. You will have the opportunity to work independently, partner with various functions and levels, and gain knowledge of the L'Oreal USA financial planning & reporting systems. In addition to on the job training, you will also be provided with a peer advisor to guide you through your internship and gain insight into the role of a financier at L'Oreal.

You will be assigned to a specific department working in one of the following areas:
•Brand Finance: Brand, category, or product profit and loss (P&L) management and analysis involving interaction with various functional areas such as Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Purchasing
•Corporate Finance: Overall L'Oreal USA financial consolidation, reporting, and analysis involving interaction with various US divisions and Paris headquarters

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
•Provide financial support to operating departments such as Marketing, Sales, Operations, etc.
•Generate, compare and analyze brand/product related data using various financial systems in order to assist in providing recommendations to drive business results
•Break down brand results to be compared to budget and trend forecasts
•Evaluate return on investment of strategic opportunities in an effort to effectively manage brand profit and loss results
•Perform adhoc analysis or various special projects as assigned (i.e. category analysis, process improvement, systems enhancement, etc.)

Qualifications:
•Undergraduate students who are entering into their Senior year of college
•Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
•Strong academic background evidenced by a GPA of 3.3 or higher
•Flexibility to work in NJ or NY locations, with travel between both
•Demonstrated leadership through participation in extra-curricular activities
•Results oriented; creative; entrepreneurial; analytical
•Superior problem solving, decision making and project management skills
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
•All students must be already authorized to be legally employed on an on-going basis in the US
•Only students able to commit to full-time work from June through August should apply.


Marketing Summer Internship Profile: The L'Oréal summer internship program for marketing is based in our New York, NY headquarters and runs between 10 - 12 weeks in length. The summer internship will consist of three main elements:
1. Assisting the brand management team with day-to-day marketing activities
2. Working on an individual project that will be presented to senior management at the conclusion of the internship
3. Participating in the corporate events and seminars

A marketing summer intern will be hired into one of the classes of trade: Consumer Products, Luxury Products or Professional Products. Once assigned to a division, you may be working in Digital Marketing or on Hair Color, Hair Care, Skin Care, Fragrance, Cosmetics or the Sun Care category for one of L'Oréal's global brands. The specific job responsibilities and project assignments outlined for a summer intern may vary from brand to brand based on the business objectives. Your responsibilities include assisting the brand team with activities including, but not limited to:
•Brand Promotions
•Advertising and Media
•Sales Analysis
•Market Research
•Finance and Forecasting
•Manufacturing
•E-Commerce

Requirements:
•Undergraduate students who are entering into their Senior year of college
•Good academic standing, GPA 3.0 or higher
•Major or Minor in marketing is preferred but not required
•Demonstrated leadership through participation in extra-curricular activities
•Results oriented; creative; entrepreneurial; analytical
•Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
•Possess a global mindset
•Prior internship experience is a plus
•Foreign language skills are a plus
•A desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and challenging environment
•Possess strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)

The MBA summer internship program is based in our New York headquarters and runs between 10 - 12 weeks in length. The summer assignment will consist of three main elements:
•Working on a brand category with day-to-day marketing responsibilities.
•Working on an individual project that will be presented to senior management at the conclusion of the internship.
•Participating in cultural, social and professional development events & seminars.

A marketing summer associate will be hired into one of the channels of trade at L'Oréal:
•Consumer Products
•Luxury Products
•Professional Products

Once assigned to a division, the intern may work on a Hair Color, Hair Care, Styling, Skin Care, Fragrances, Cosmetics, or Sun Care category for one of L'Oréal's global brands. The responsibilities include assisting the brand team with activities including, but not limited to:
•Brand Promotions
•Advertising and Media
•Sales Analysis
•Market Research
•Projections and Forecasting

Requirements
•Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
•Must be creative, analytical and have excellent communication/interpersonal skills
•Must have a desire to work in a fast-paced dynamic, challenging environment
•Foreign language skills are a plus
•Must be a U.S. citizen or already authorized to be legally employed on an ongoing basis in the United States based on visa or immigration status
