About Garmin International Internship Program

Garmin is a worldwide provider of navigation products. We are committed to making superior products for automotive, aviation, marine, outdoor and sports that are an essential part of our customers' lives. Our vertical integration business model keeps these functions in-house, giving us more control over timelines, quality and service. Garmin has more than 11,000 associates worldwide.

Internships at Garmin offer real-life work experience that they will want to write home--or text--about! We have interns in many of our departments, including the majority in Engineering (software/hardware/mechanical), IT, Operations, and Marketing, etc. Most of our internships are located at our world headquarters in Olathe, Kan., (Kansas City area) and last a minimum of 10 weeks in the summer. There are also a few offsite locations that offer internships (see our website). Our engineering interns work side by side with full-time engineers, including a personal mentor, assisting with development, testing, designing and developing software and hardware features that will be used in Garmin products. Non-engineering interns also work closely with experts in their field.

Interns will come away from their internship at Garmin with real industry experience that will help them advance in their future career path, which we hope will be with us. In addition to a challenging and rewarding work experience, our interns make lifelong friends with coworkers and other interns from across the country and get to know each other outside of work through various social events throughout the summer. We have a casual, friendly work-hard-play-hard culture, exemplified by our absence of a formal dress code. We not only pay our interns a competitive wage, we also provide coordinated and paid housing for them, allowing our interns to show up and move right in! We evaluate every graduating intern for full-time employment with the intention of making offers to those who are a good fit. After all, our interns make the best full-time employees. We offer paid time off (unused time gets paid out at the end of the summer), paid holidays, free use of our on-site gym and workout classes, subsidized memberships for gyms, discounts on Garmin products, invitations to company events, paid entry fees for certain races, opportunities to test new products before they're released, discounts at local and national companies, and much more. At our headquarters, we also have social and community service committees on which our interns may serve. Through these committees, our interns plan fun activities to get to know each other and explore Kansas City. In addition, our community service committee finds ways to give back to our community, which fits perfectly into the culture at Garmin.
