About Wells Fargo & Company Financial Internships

Created by American Express founder William Fargo in 1850 as a "pony express," Wells Fargo is now one of the banking industry's powerhouses. The firm has more than 278,000 employees and controls over $1.2 trillion in assets, providing financial services that range from investments, banking and consumer finance, to insurance and mortgages. In October 2008, Wells Fargo bought Wachovia, further expanding its reach across the United States. In 2010 alone, Forbes ranked Wells Fargo among the Most Admired Companies in the World and BusinessWeek named the company America's second Most Generous Corporate Foundations.

Wells Fargo & Company offers two types of financial-based internships:

The Wells Fargo Wealth and Investment Management Internship Program: Ideal for current undergraduates interested in working in a collaborative environment focused on providing exceptional client service.  Over the course of 10 weeks, interns will gain a deeper knowledge of the financial services industry through hands-on experience in one of the lines of business within the division, including Wealth Management, Abbot Downing, Wells Fargo Advisors, Retirement, Wells Fargo Investment Institute and Wells Fargo Asset Management.

In their roles, interns will maintain daily contact with leaders at all levels of the organization including senior management, team members, individual contributors and vendors. They will provide customer service to clients and internal team members as necessary and solve problems independently. They will consistently learn new systems, applications, processes and techniques. Interns will also complete a group project. Throughout the program, interns will benefit from coaching and performance feedback sessions.

Audit Summer Internship Program - Applicants that successfully apply to this program will learn the fundamentals of financial services, auditing, and risk analysis through formal training and in project settings. They will gain insight into risk management through exposure to a variety of audit projects and will be placed directly on audit teams and execute audit work with more seasoned auditors. Interns will also enjoy a high level of responsibility and accountability; benefit from a collegial team environment that focuses on results and excellence; and obtain information and candidate consideration for the highly competitive Audit Associate Program.
