Evercore Partners is an independent investment bank with
approximately 850 employees (350 investment bankers), with a global
presence in the Americas, Europe and Asia. Evercore was founded in
1996 by Roger Altman, a former Deputy Secretary of the Treasury and
the Firm's Chairman. Evercore's CEO is Ralph Schlosstein, a
co-founder of Blackrock. Evercore focuses on two lines of business,
Investment Banking and Investment Management, and prides itself on
being a trusted senior advisor to corporations of the highest
caliber. We seek to differentiate ourselves through unstinting
adherence to our core values of Excellence and Integrity. The
firm's investment bankers provide objective counsel to senior
executives and Boards of Directors on a range of complex business
and financial issues, including M&A, takeover defense,
shareholder value creation, corporate governance, and asset
divestitures. The restructuring advisory team provides financial
restructuring services, strategic advice and related investment
banking services to companies in financial transition as well as to
their interest holders. Evercore has recently advised participants
in numerous marquee transactions, including the largest U.S.
transactions in each of the past three years.
The Evercore Summer Program is a 10-week program (including one
week of training) designed to provide highly motivated
undergraduates and MBAs with a representative experience in
strategic advisory and mergers and acquisitions. As part of the
program, interns will work on a variety of assignments across
industries including: acquisitions, restructurings,
recapitalizations, divestitures, partnerships and joint ventures.
As part of the team assigned to these projects, individuals will be
responsible for a variety of tasks including: preparing for and
attending client meetings, financial modeling, industry analysis,
due diligence and process management and execution of transactions.
Summer analysts and associates typically work as part of small
teams and as a result get a significant amount of exposure to
senior bankers as well as clients, and are able to take on as much
responsibility early on as they can handle. Summer interns are
sometimes staffed side-by-side with a full-time counterpart, but
are also given opportunities to work on deal teams without another
analyst/associate and are responsible for a large portion of the
team's analytical work.
The Evercore internship program is a great way gain transaction
experience as well as get hired full time-the firm sources a
majority of its junior hires from its internship program. Evercore
has a very high yield on offers extended, and every analyst in its
summer program over the past three years has accepted their
full-time offers to join the firm. This minimizes competition among
interns and fosters a more collaborative environment which is
reflective of the culture as a whole. Senior bankers take an active
role in mentoring young bankers, and over the summer Firm social
events are held about once a week.
