Application Process

To apply, send an application, resume, transcript (can be unofficial), a 1-page essay about why you want the internship and a letter from your university confirming that you are a student working toward a degree at their accredited college and support your participation in a paid internship at CBS News to Katie Curcio at

Application Deadline

Fall and Spring interns are accepted on a rolling basis. The summer program selects and assigns students on a first-come, first-served basis; summer applications will not be accepted after February 28 of each year.

Juniors, seniors, and graduate students are eligible. Students majoring in journalism, broadcasting or communications are preferred, but those majoring in public relations, marketing, advertising, English, history, international studies and political science are welcome to apply and will be considered. Participants must have good computer skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities and knowledge of current events. A 3.0 GPA or above is recommended. CBS News will compensate each student an hourly wage. CBS News does not require students to receive college credit. Students are solely responsible for coordinating and meeting the credit requirements of their college/university.
