Application Process

Apply using our online application system

  • Visit our web site at http://www.ubs.com/graduates and select the role for which you wish to apply.
  • Carefully read the job ad to see if we require any additional application material (essays, etc.).
  • Select on the role(s) you wish to apply for and click "Apply now."
  • Create a log-in (or log in if you already have an account).
  • Begin to fill out the application following the online instructions.
  • You might be asked to enter your GPA and results of standard tests (ACT, SAT, etc), so have this information readily available.
  • During the process, you'll be asked to provide a few separate documents. Documents should not be larger than 3MB, and can be provided in formats PDF, DOC, TXT, DOCX or BMP:
    • Your resume
    • A cover letter
    • Any additional documents (references, essays required, etc.)
  • Take your time and think carefully about your answers before submitting your application.
  • Please note that incomplete applications will not be considered make sure to continue to the very last page and submit your application.
  • We recommend that you submit your completed application well before the specified deadline.
  • Please note: If we will be holding interviews on your campus, apply through your Career Services Center by the resume drop deadline. In addition, you'll need to apply online via www.ubs.com/graduates following the above instructions.

Application Deadline

If you attend a school where UBS recruits on-campus, you must visit your Career Services online system for posted deadlines. All others must apply by the deadline indicated on the job posting on the UBS web site. All summer internship postings will have deadlines on or before February 1, 2014.

Requirements

Candidates must be enrolled in a four year bachelor's degree, a master's degree, a Phd program, or international equivalent program. Undergraduates must have completed their junior year prior to the commencement of employment, and masters/Phd candidates must have one year of full-time studies remaining prior to joining. A strong GPA as evidence of academic success is required. We hire students from across academic disciplines. Our preference is for candidates to have the following skills:

  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written) and the ability to effectively interact with senior management and successfully communicate with and influence others
  • Strong analytical (math/financial) skills and attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of accounting and financial concepts (financial/managerial)
  • Intelligent, hard-working, self motivated, innovative, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Excel and Word, Business Objects and Microsoft Access is a plus

    • Are you able to work collaboratively and support team members while pursuing personal objectives?
    • Can you encourage others to participate, listen to different viewpoints and work towards a consensus?

    • Are you able to organize your own work, manage your time effectively and stay focused on priorities?
    • Can you develop and monitor clear action plans with realistic deadlines and set time-scales that take available resources into account?
    • Can you amend plans to account for changes or unforeseen situations?
