Employment in this field is expected to grow about as fast as the average for all occupations through 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Despite the prediction for average growth, job opportunities will be excellent. The number of job applicants in this field is generally low due to the unclean and physically demanding nature of the work. This relative lack of competition means that you can enter the field with ease, given you have adequate experience.
