Urologists

According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, employment for all physicians and surgeons is expected to grow faster than the average for all occupations through 2022. Employment prospects for urologists are good. The demographics of American society illustrate that the growth in the aging population will increase demand for services that cater, in large part, to them. With baby boomers aging, the need for qualified urologists will continue to grow. Additionally, the implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act has increased the number of people who are covered by health insurance—and has created more demand for urologists and other physicians.
