Truck Drivers

Employment for heavy and tractor-trailer truck drivers is expected to increase about as fast as the average rate for all other occupations through 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Job opportunities are expected to grow faster than the average for drivers in the oil and gas extraction and construction industries. Employment growth for light and delivery truck drivers will be slower than the average during this period as a result of improved routing technology that make drivers more productive.
