Sociologists

Employment for sociologists is expected to grow faster than the average for all careers through 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). Opportunities are best for those with broad training and education in analytical, methodological, conceptual, and qualitative and quantitative analysis and research. Competition will be strong in all areas, however, as many sociology graduates continue to enter the job market. The DOL reports that "candidates with an advanced degree, strong statistical and research skills, and a background in applied sociology will have the best job prospects."
