Security Consultants and Guards

Employment for guards and other security personnel is expected to increase about as fast as the average for all careers through 2024, as public concern about crime, vandalism, and terrorism continues to grow. Many job openings will be created as a result of the high turnover of workers in this field. Employment prospects will be better in certain industries than others. For example, job opportunites for security guards in the construction industry will grow much faster than the average for all careers, while employment will decline for those who work in the manufacturing industry. Employment for security consultants can be expected to remain steady or rise if threats from crime, terrorism, and vandalsim remain constant.
