Pilots

The U.S. Department of Labor predicts little or no employment change for airline pilots, copilots, and flight engineers through 2022. Opportunities will be best at regional airlines and low-fare carriers, which have experienced faster growth than the major airlines. Job opportunities for commercial pilots are expected to be better, increasing by 9 percent (or as fast as the average) through 2022. Pilots who fly for air cargo carriers will have good opportunities as these companies receive more shipping business as a result of security restrictions on the shipping of freight via passenger airlines.
