Mathematics Teachers

Employment for middle school teachers is predicted to grow about as fast as the average for all careers through 2024, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Employment for secondary school teachers is expected to grow more slowly than the average in that same time frame. Many schools are in short supply of math educators, partly due to the large number of teachers expected to retire. As a result, school systems are competing for teachers in many locations, using bonuses and higher pay to lure the most qualified.
