Lawn and Gardening Service Owners

From 2009 to 2014, the average U.S. household spent $359 a year on lawn care, according to the National Gardening Survey, down from an average of $435 a year from 2001 to 2008. This suggests that more people are doing their own lawn care. While spending has decreased, there is still a need for lawn care service professionals. The U.S. Department of Labor reports that job opportunities for self-employed grounds maintenance workers will increase by about 3 percent through 2024, or more slowly than the average for all careers.
