Landscapers and Grounds Managers

Employment for most workers in this field is expected to grow about as fast as the average for all occupations through 2024, according to the Occupational Outlook Handbook. Job opportunities for pesticide handlers, sprayers, and applicators are expected to grow more slowly than the average during this same time span. Landscapers and their services will be in strong demand due to increased construction of buildings, shopping malls, homes, and other structures. Upkeep and renovation of existing landscapes will create jobs as well. There is also a high degree of turnover in this field as many workers transfer to better-paying occupations, retire, or leave the field for other reasons.
