Janitors and Cleaners
No special educational requirements exist for this position, although employers prefer to hire applicants with a high school diploma. High school classes that are helpful to prospective janitorial workers are family and consumer science, mathematics, and chemistry. Because understanding and following directions is very important, English or communication classes might be beneficial. Finally, shop classes can help by teaching minor plumbing or carpentry work.
