Farmers' Market Managers/Promoters

Demand for farm-fresh food has been on the rise for more than a decade. To meet this demand, the farmers' market business is also growing, which is good news for farmers' market managers. According to the Agricultural Marketing Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, there were 1,755 farmers' markets operating in the United States in 1994. In 2004 that number had more than doubled to 3,706. Since then, even more markets have opened and begun operations. In 2013, there were 8,144 farmers' markets, a 3.6 percent increase from 2012.
