Exercise Physiologists

Employment in the fitness and health industries will continue to be good as exercise is increasingly used to improve health and treat or prevent illness and injury. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, employment of athletic trainers and exercise physiologists is projected to grow 21 percent through 2022, faster than the average for all occupations. Although opportunities will be good in the near future, competition will increase for the best positions as more and more people learn about and enter this relatively new and interesting field. Exercise physiologists with master's degrees and certification will have the best employment opportunities.
