The Occupational Outlook Handbook reports that employment for postsecondary teachers in general will grow faster the average for all careers through 2024. This is largely because enrollment is expected to increase, creating a greater need for professors. Employment for archaeologists and historians is expected to grow more slowly than the average. Job opportunities for biological scientists should be good. Employment for medical scientists is expected to grow by 8 percent between 2014 and 2024, about as fast as the average for all occupations.
