Environmental Education Program Directors
The U.S. Department of Labor reports that the green industry is growing and numerous jobs are expanding to meet demand. While the DOL does not report specifically about environmental education prospects, it does show that employment for education administrators is expected to grow about as fast as the average for all occupations through 2018. The outlook for instructional coordinators, whose work is also similar to that of environmental program directors, is even better: job growth is expected to be much faster than the average for all careers through 2018. Increased interest in environmental issues coupled with new and changing environmental laws and regulations is causing many schools and organizations to create and expand their environmental education programs. Environmental education program directors will be needed to help create and enhance programs to educate youth and adults in various communities.
