Divers and Diving Technicians
Most job opportunities for divers and diving technicians are with commercial diving contractors. The work is frequently dirty, exhausting, and dangerous, and the duties vary greatly. Some common underwater jobs include inspecting structures or equipment using visual, photographic, or videotape methods; operating hand or power tools in mechanical construction or repair; cleaning marine growth from structures; welding or cutting in salvage, repair, or construction functions; and surveying for geological or biological research teams.
