Court Interpreters and Translators

Court Interpreter Translates between Client and Lawyer

Court interpreters and translators are individuals who are bilingual, and proficient in English as well as another language, or in American Sign Language. They are utilized in the Federal, State and local courts and in other legal settings throughout the United States to assist in the communications of non-English speaking participants in the legal process including Defendants, litigants and witnesses in criminal and civil cases. Court “interpreters” are responsible for the translation of verbal communications in court proceedings, while “translators” are generally called upon to translate written legal documents.
