The U.S. Department of Labor predicts that employment for cosmetologists, which include cosmeticians, will grow about as fast as the average for all other occupations through 2022. Employment of skin care specialists is projected to grow much more from 2012 to 2022, at a rate that is faster than the average for all occupations. The popularity of facials and other skin treatments is fueling this demand.
