Employment opportunities for most personal appearance workers are expected to grow faster than average for all occupations (9 percent to 13 percent) from 2014 to 2024, according to the U.S. Department of Labor, mainly due to the need to replace workers who transfer to other occupations, retire, or leave the occupation for other reasons. In addition, the desire among many women and a growing number of men to reduce the effects of aging and to lead a healthier lifestyle through better grooming, including skin and grooming treatments for relaxation, attractive appearance, and well-being, should result in employment growth.
