Automotive Technology Teachers
According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, little employment change is expected for career and technical education teachers at the secondary level through 2020. The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) predicts that opportunities for vocational education teachers may be limited somewhat as school districts focus on traditional subjects such as math and science. Additionally, secondary school enrollments will slow during the next decade, and the availability of jobs will vary be region. The DOL reports that "rapidly growing states in the South and West will likely experience the largest enrollment increases. Enrollments in the Midwest are expected to hold relatively steady, and those in the Northeast are projected to decline."
