Automotive Technology Teachers

According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, employment of career and technical education teachers at the secondary level is expected to be slower than the average for all occupations through 2024, according to the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). Teachers will continue to be needed to help prepare students for technical careers. Additionally, population growth will increase secondary and postsecondary school enrollments, but the availability of jobs will vary by region and by educational level. For example, the DOL reports that job opportunities will be best in the South, West, Midwest, Texas, and California where there are higher enrollment rates than in New England and the Great Plains.
