Adventure Travel Specialists
One-half of all U.S. traveling adults, or about 98 million people, have taken an adventure trip in their lifetime, according to the Adventure Travel Report. This indicates that the market for adventure travel is quite large and is likely growing, despite setbacks in the U.S. economy. Many trends in today’s society indicate that this growth is likely to continue. One reason is that the public’s awareness of and interest in physical health is growing; this leads more and more people to pursue physical activities as a form of recreation. Another reason is that as more people realize that a healthy environment means a better quality of life, there is an increased interest in wildlife and wilderness issues. Adventure travel often encompasses both physical activity and education on and preservation of natural areas, so it is a natural choice for many travelers.
