Acquisitions Librarians

The U.S. Department of Labor predicts that employment for librarians will grow more slowly than the average for all careers through 2022. Today, libraries offer a wide variety of materials—including books, periodicals, electronic publications and music, CD-ROMs, music, and videos—to patrons, and acquisitions librarians will be needed to assess and acquire these materials. Opportunities will be best at libraries with large collections and a variety of media.
