As people live longer, the growth in the number of older people will fuel increasing popularity in cosmetics and general-care products (such as anti-aging creams and lotions) that help people look younger. The teen market is a growing sector of the personal-care products industry. A 2012 survey by the marketing research group Mintel reports that 37 percent of girls between the ages of 9 and 17 used lip gloss/lipstick daily, 33 percent used mascara every day, and 27 percent used eyeliner daily.
