Excelligence Learning wants your child's intelligence level to soar. It also offers custom-packaged school supplies and fundraiser items. Its goods are sold to some 250,000 child care centers, schools, teachers, and parents through its subsidiaries' websites, catalogs, and sales forces. In addition, the firm's Earlychildhood NEWS site features articles and discussion boards for teachers and parents. Excelligence was acquired by investment firm Brentwood Associates in early 2015.
Excelligence's operating units include Discount School Supply, which carries arts and crafts products, activity sets, teaching supplements, and furniture; Early Childhood Manufacturers' Direct, a supplier of children's furniture; Angeles, a manufacturer of classroom furniture and storage items; and Achievement Products, which provides exercise, therapy, and other special education products. Its Educational Products unit distributes prepackaged school supplies, fundraising items, science fair products, and apparel.
The company's portfolio of proprietary products is anchored by such names as BioColor, Colorations, and SchoolWrapPacs. Excelligence also distributes third-party products, including the widely recognized Crayola, Elmer's, and Lego brands.
Excelligence is headquartered in Monterey, California, and has six warehouses located nationwide.
