The Los Angeles Kings Hockey Club professional hockey team entered the National Hockey League in 1967. The franchise plays host at the Staples Center, which it shares with the title-laden Los Angeles Lakers basketball team. The Kings have only made two appearances in the Stanley Cup Finals and the team won its first ever Stanley Cup in 2012, beating the New Jersey Devils four games to two. Denver billionaire Philip Anschutz and Los Angeles developer Edward Roski have owned the Kings since 1995. The partners also own the Staples Center and a minority stake in the Lakers.
