Sales and Marketing
The company has conducted its share of Olympic-sized marketing projects. Its successful campaigns led to the selection of Beijing as the host for the 2008 Olympic Games. It also produced campaigns for the Russian city of Sochi, which was the International Olympic Committee's selection to host the Winter Olympic Games in 2014.
In 2013 Weber Shandwick extended its growing footprint in Africa with a new partnership with Kenya’s leading independent PR agency, Gina Din Corporate Communications (GDCC). The partnership will further expand and strengthen Weber Shandwick’s leading presence throughout Africa.
Also in 2013 Weber Shandwick launched GoLive, a creative service offering that incorporates live storytelling, broadcast quality-production, and social distribution that gets client content in front of the right audiences at the right time. GoLive is incorporated into Mediaco, Weber Shandwick’s recently launched content creation and distribution unit that delivers a comprehensive approach to brand publishing. The addition of GoLive using Mediaco provides a new way for brands to create compelling content and to extend news distribution, corporate communications, and brand campaigns through live, original storytelling.
Mergers and Acquisitions
In 2013 Weber Shandwick acquired the ownership of public relations agency Corporate Voice Weber Shandwick (CVWS) by buying out the stake of its Indian partner, MAA Group Holdings, for an undisclosed sum.
