Marietta makes miniatures -- those little personal care amenities found in hotels and bed-and-breakfast inns. The manufacturer rolls out soaps, shampoos, lotions, and the like. Its products are distributed to hospitality and institutional customers, including hotels, spas, military bases, and correctional facilities. Using its sample-size packaging know-how, Marietta also provides contract manufacturing for consumer products companies. It has worked with leading firms such as Estée Lauder, Procter & Gamble, and Pfizer. Marietta's manufacturing and warehousing network spans the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia. Founded as Marietta Packaging Company in 1976, the firm has been owned by Ares Management since 2004.
Marietta's offerings are produced under both private labels and well-known brands. Its private-label portfolio includes Lord & Mayfair, Aromae Botanicals, Earth's Accents, Hydro Basics, and Sun & Sand. The company has turned out personal care products carrying name brands such as Aveda, Pantene Pro-V, Jergens, Vaseline, philosophy, and Finesse. Marietta has grown its business over the years by expanding its slate of partnerships with large consumer products companies, including Johnson & Johnson, Unilever, and L'Oreal.
The company has also focused on eco-friendly initiatives. Some of its efforts have included using wind-generated electricity for manufacturing processes, recycled materials and soy-based inks in packaging, and sourcing supplies from local vendors (which reduces transportation emissions).
