Enterprise Community Partners (ECP) doesn't think affordable
housing, safe streets, reliable child care, and access to jobs
should remain an unattainable utopia for the majority of
disadvantaged Americans. The organization provides grants, loans,
and technical assistance to not-for-profit organizations that build
and revitalize neighborhoods across the US. Its funding has helped
to build or preserve more than 200,000 affordable homes.
It also acquires HUD-owned, foreclosed homes at reduced rates in
order to sell them to qualifying buyers. ECP has about 20
offices located throughout the US. The organization was founded in
1982 James and Patty Rouse as The Enterprise Foundation.
