About South Jersey Publishing Company

South Jersey Publishing operates The Press of Atlantic City, the leading local newspaper serving Southeastern New Jersey. The newspaper traces its roots to 1895 when publisher Walter Edge (who later became a two-time governor of New Jersey, a US senator, and ambassador to France) launched The Daily Press in Atlantic City. Rolland Adams purchased the paper in 1951; his family continues to control the business through their diversified holding company ABARTA.
